World Aroma Ingredients Congress and Expo set to take place in February 2024 in Chennai

Union Minister of State BL Verma announced that Chennai will host the Aroma Ingredients Congress Expo-24 between  8 to 10 of  Feb 2024, organized by the Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI) during the curtain raiser program held at Noida. The event will bring together farmers, scientists, and entrepreneurs associated with the fragrance industry and provide them with a world-class platform. The Aroma Mission, with the support from the Central Government, is taking the fragrance industry to new heights that shall aid in the realization of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India the third-largest economy in the world.

The minister announced that farmers, scientists, and entrepreneurs associated with the fragrance industry will benefit from upcoming events locally and globally. The Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI) was established in 1956 at Harcourt Butler Technical University in Kanpur. Post that, it was established in NCR in 1992 and in Noida in 2012. EOAI has become closely associated with farmers, scientists, and fragrance entrepreneurs from various countries, guiding the flavour and fragrance industry in new directions worldwide. The current president of EOAI, Sanjay Varshney, revealed that the event will feature silver programs with the theme “India – Global Center of Essential Oils, Fragrances and Flavours.” He also mentioned that more than 1,200 Indians and 300 international delegates will participate in the program.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Varshney said that farmers are the core of the Indian economy. He said EOAI brings together entrepreneurs and farmers from industry and trade to create an overall success story of Make in India and empower them to start domestic businesses. It will inspire the production of new varieties of aromatic plants and crop products in the future. Apart from this, it also provides them to global buyers. By and large, the fragrance industry is a part of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. This industry gets its support from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. Sunil Goyal is the chairman of the Aroma Ingredients Congress 2024. EOAI Secretary Pradeep Jain said that this event focuses on making India a central repository for human and agricultural crop resources. He informed that Indian businesses export essential oils, fragrances and flavours worth more than Rs 7500 crore to the world.
