Big Bell has also begun preparations for the launch of new premium products next year. In response to a question, he stated that only those companies can survive in the market, which will provide the best quality products at reasonable prices. It is not possible to raise the price of existing products. He claimed that a price war has resulted from the entry of numerous small and large manufacturers into this sector. In this case, the products’ prices should be kept in line with their level of quality.
Mr Bhaskar claimed that despite numerous attempts, it has not been possible to establish pricing guidelines for quality and price in the agarbatti industry. The quality of products with MRP of ₹10 and ₹20 cannot be guaranteed. In such a situation, consumers should also look for products with MRP of₹50. He added that several discussions and meetingshave been held in the industry to ban the pack of 10 incense sticks, but not everyone agreed. Many people said that they have profit in 10 kadi pack and they are still doing business on the same. In response to a question, he said that that agarbatti industry market has grown to Rs.10,000 andnow the time has come for the industry to come out of the status of small scale industry, because it is of no use.
He asserted that the only way to overcome problems with quality and price in the agarbatti market is for all manufacturers to make premium products of the highest quality while maintaining fair prices. He continued by pointing out the entry of small producers into the market as well as the business dealings between multinationals and big businesses.
