OCEAN’S DEEP PRINTERS INTRODUCING INNOVATIONS IN PACKAGING

Ocean’s Deep Printers, Ahmedabad is a leader in printing and packaging material manufacturing. They use high-tech machines to ensure timely delivery of their products. In a special conversation with Sugandh India, head of Ocean’s Deep Printers, Mr. Shripal Patel along with his sons, Mr. Vrund Patel and Mr. Shubh Patel share the innovations going on in Ocean’s Deep Printers. Vrund Patel looks over the plastic division, whereas Shubh Patel looks over rigid box and cannister round packaging division.

Ocean’s Deep Printers has been a major player in the printing and packaging industry for almost 90 years. The company regularly introduces new products in response to market needs. The company received numerous awards for their innovative packaging. In 2022, UK based Print Week awarded Ocean’s Deep and in March 2023, the company received a gold award from Screen Print India. One of the USP of the company is that  they can do the designing and printing and provide the packaging sample, all within an hour. Ocean Deep Printers is a family business, with the fifth generation currently working there, and has gained customers from across the country, including major agarbatti brands.

Vrund Patel, the head of plastic division shared an experiment on zipper and sample pouches. He told that they can now print 3000 pouches without cylinder. This will benefit small and new manufacturers who want to experiment with their products or produce them in smaller quantities. He also revealed that they are now also producing jars. The agarbatti and incense industry’s jar packing market is growing rapidly. Earlier we used to print only stickers for jars but now we are providing jars as well along with stickers. We have jars available in sizes ranging from 50g to 400g are equipped with stickers. The company specializes in printing and packing materials in various quantities and plans to establish a new unit with advanced machines by next year. A team of 150 to 200 technicians, designers, and managers are dedicated to delivering high-quality products on time.

Shubh Patel, head of rigid box and cannister round packaging division said that attractive packaging is the key to customer response. The company has designed luxurious rigid boxes and cannister packagin specifically for the agarbatti and incense industry, ensuring complete product safety. Good packaging is critical for maintaining the quality of premium products due to their high value. These high-quality boxes and cannisters can securely pack products, preserving their scent. The visually appealing appearance of these catches the attention of customers and is being promoted on social media, gaining popularity amongst younger generations.

Head of the company, Shripal Patel mentioned that his company provides printing and packaging services for a variety of industries including; garments, food, pharmaceuticals, perfumery, jewellery, marriage cards, and visiting cards. He also mentioned that they have an advanced Israeli machine called skodix, that has widely gained success. People were initially sceptical regarding this machine and said that it would fail but proved them wrong.

In the end when asked about the printing and packaging market, he noted that all industries are performing well, especially during the festival season. Their company has already printed and packaged around 400 new products this year. He added that the Israeli printing machine Skodix produces excellent quality packaging material, particularly designer perfume boxes or boxes for other products, but it is quite expensive.
