Agarbatti making has switched gears. Manufacturers can’t fulfil uncontrollable demand for agarbatti using age-old techniques. The hand-rolled technique that still is the best and yields the best quality agarbattis fails in the face of market demands: especially agarbattis manufactured for the economy segment. Jagdish ji, owner of RK Packaging supplies advanced technology packing machines for dhoop and agarbatti. They have machines for all types of incense products like; traditional dhoop, dry sticks, cones, sambrani cups, hawan samagri and of course… agarbattis. One of the features of agarbatti packing machines is; when agarbatti sticks are put in the hopper, it packs the items as per the counting or weight. This reduces the cost of labour from four to five labourers to one. Talking about his machines Jagdish Ji informed us that 70 pouches can be prepared in just a minute. Their machines can run for 12 hours nonstop. They make vertical machines. Horizontal machines aren’t that successful. Buyers complain a lot.
RK Packing has been manufacturing agarbatti packing machines these since 2015. They used to take mechanical job work before 2015 and this gave them success. Then in 2015, they began their manufacturing. The company as per order also manufactures packing machines for; spices, tea leaves and chips. Agarbatti manufacturing machines is their core business.
Jagdish Ji informed Sugandh India that his machines packages items based on set weight or counting. It depends on the buyer. In case the buyer wants both weight and counter in his machine, we standardise it accordingly. Customers have complained about accuracy issues when both systems are integrated into machine. It is not recommended to have both and therefore we tell our buyers to have separate machines for packaging according to weigh and counting.
Jagdish ji told that they make packaging machines that can pack between 30g and 200g. We recently also made a machine that can also pack 500 grams. Now we are working on 1 kg packaging. Most popular in demand are machines that pack upto 200g.
He told Sugandh India about his after-sales. His staff is prompt in attending to service calls. The solutions provided are on the phone. It works most of the time for general issues. In certain cases, his company sends service engineers onsite. Deployment, installation and setup of newly purchased machines are all done by trained staff. Training and self-serviceability are included in after-sales.
Informing Sugandh India, he said “, We too face challenges in our line of business just like any other. We too have competitors in our trade. Inflation on the other hand adds fuel to expenses. I am in a business with a 2% margin.”
According to Jagadish Ji, they manufacture zero-maintenance equipment(s). It is also their USP. A single unit costs something between 2.25 to 5.50 Lakhs. The difference is the packing speed and the number of counting wheels. Single-wheel machine packs 30 to 40 pouches a minute and costs around 2.25 lakh. Going a level up from this we have double head that packs around 60 to 65 pouches every minute. We also have 4 head machines. The main difference is the speed. One year warranty is provided with every sale.
