From production to packaging, we have all machines under one roof - Kishore Kapadia

Soham Industry Machinery Limited is a prime example of the “Make in India” initiative. They produce machines for various industries, including pharma, ayurveda, cosmetics, and plastic. Their machines are fully automatic and are exported to countries such as Dubai, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Kenya, Indonesia, Egypt, Russia, Australia, and Turkey. Soham Industry Machinery’s dryers for the production of incense, dry sticks, cups, cones, and incense sticks are now in high demand for material mixing, product manufacturing, and drying processes. Their products include packing machines, perfume machines, counting machines, packaging machines, and carton packaging machines. The Managing Director, Mr Kishore Kapadia, aims to automate the entire production process and is continuously conducting research and development to achieve this goal.

Soham Soham Industry Machinery Limited, established in 2001, manufactures; manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic machines for all types of agarbatti products. The company has supplied these machines to many big industries. Soham’s machines have advanced technology, are strong and durable, and are better than other machines being manufactured in Vietnam and the country. The company has already installed bulk machines for production, product dipping, and packaging in many big manufacturers in the agarbatti industry.

The company has developed an agarbatti production machine that can produce 50kg in 8 hours and 180kg in 8 hours. It can make 48 sticks in 1 minute. They specialize in counting and packaging machines for agarbatti and have been acquired by major players such as Godrej, ITC,  ZED Black, Kuber and GTBC. They have also developed a carton machine that can pack agarbatti sticks, previously priced between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 40 lakh, for just Rs 7 lakh. Their dipping machine is patented and copyrighted, making it one of a kind. Their machine can run on low GCM, which can be used by small manufacturers.

Mr Kapadia shared valuable insights about the Soham Industry’s machine capabilities. The machine can expertly pack various carton sizes, ranging from 75 mm to 250 mm, at a speed of 25 cartons per minute. It’s also energy-efficient and designed to tuck and blow cartoons.

Furthermore, the Soham Industry has gone above and beyond by developing the Soham-135 model. This machine can produce 356 incense sticks per minute and 135 kg of dry production in one hour, with a labour cost of only ₹ 2. This model has a longer piston lifespan, comes equipped with account meters, and has a gearbox that can last up to ten years. Additionally, the company offers a one-year warranty on the machine, and DC cart change costs only around ₹ 100.

In summary, Soham Industry’s machine is a highly efficient, cost-effective, and practical solution for those in the market for a superior alternative to machines made in Vietnam and India.

Soham has created a menu cone machine that produces 70-80 kg and two other machines that produce 150 kg and 450 kg, respectively. These machines have been installed in Z Black and other companies. Soham produces incense stick production machines in different sizes and styles, ranging in price from Rs 75,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh. Their automatic machines are selling well due to their higher production rates and lower costs. Soham offers support to customers all over the world and provides video call assistance if issues arise. The machines are made with specially designed parts that result in better production at a lower cost, and they also supply parts to maintain quality.

Mr Kishore Kapadia, in an interview with Sugandh India, stated that the demand for incense products other than incense sticks has increased, leading to a rise in demand for machines that produce incense, dry sticks, cones and cups.

The company primarily focuses on bamboo lace machines. Mr Kapadia mentioned that he has machines for making dhoop sticks and cups ranging from 4 mm to 20 and 25 (mm) and for wet dhoop. The cost of a hydraulic machine ranges from Rs 2 lakh 15 thousand for the starting model to Rs 4 lakh for the auto-filling model. Everything is done in-house, with a team of twenty engineers handling design, production, assembling and installation.

Mr. Kishore Kapadia highlighted the problem of low-quality machines in the agarbatti industry. Many new entrants opt for cheaper machines, leading to significant losses after just a few months. This results in a high dropout rate, with up to 80% leaving the industry. Vietnamese and poor-quality machines are major issues, causing many to suffer losses. Kishore Kapadia sells his machines to those who want to remain in the industry. He advises newcomers to purchase his machines and run them for a month or two to understand the difference in quality.

Mr. Kapadia mentioned that their counting and packaging machine costs around four to four and a half lakh rupees, but has minimal counting errors. The cartoning machine was launched three years ago, and they have received a positive response from various sectors, where they have installed it. They offer an automatic machine for cartoons priced at Rs 6 to 7 lakh, which is significantly lower than the market price, ranging between Rs 20 to 40 lakh. They have developed a low-budget machine for the agarbatti industry and are working towards more automation in the industry through continuous research and development. They design machines based on their customers’ demands and aim to provide new machines to the industry regularly.
