Shiv Shakt’s Journey Began with a Commitment to Quality, Purity and Devotion

“Camphor is not merely a puja product, but an integral part of faith.” It was with this belief that Mr. Sitaram Jaiswal laid the foundation of Shiv Shakti with limited resources and gradually transformed a small initiative into the journey of an established brand. In an exclusive conversation with Sugandh India, Shiv Shakti Camphor founder Mr. Sitaram Jaiswal shared that a small personal experience inspired him to create camphor that could become a trusted part of every puja while maintaining purity and quality. The journey of Shiv Shakti, which began in 1987, has now completed several decades. At the heart of this journey has always been one fundamental belief that products used in puja are not merely commodities, but are closely connected with people’s faith and emotions. Therefore, there should be no compromise when it comes to their quality and reliability.

From a Small Beginning to a Manufacturing Unit

Speaking about the beginning of the company, Mr. Sitaram Jaiswal told Sugandh India that Shiv Shakti started on a very small scale. One day, while performing puja at a temple, the camphor was not burning properly. This interruption during a sacred moment of devotion deeply affected him. He recalls wondering: should low-quality camphor become an obstacle in someone’s devotion? This question became the foundation of his resolve. During the initial years, production was limited, and moving the business forward required continuous hard work and patience. According to Mr. Jaiswal, maintaining quality was the biggest priority during that period, and despite the early challenges, he did not compromise on the company’s core principles. After around five to six years, the company established its own manufacturing unit. At that time, production was much smaller compared to today. Mr. Jaiswal recalls that producing even one tonne of camphor in a month was considered a significant achievement. The hard work and dedication of the entire team played an important role in making this possible. Recalling those early days, he shared that the team often had to work extra hours, but the employees’ commitment towards quality and production helped the company move forward. Today, Shiv Shakti has expanded considerably, but according to its founder, the company’s core values remain the same as those with which it began – quality, trust, purity and devotion.

Camphor: A Product Connected with Tradition and Faith

Responding to a question from Sugandh India, Mr. Jaiswal explained that camphor has traditionally held a special place in Indian puja practices. For Shiv Shakti too, camphor is not merely a consumer product, but a medium connected with religious and cultural emotions. Mr Jaiswal considers Shiv Shakti camphor a symbol of purity, tradition and faith. He also views the burning of camphor as a spiritual symbol. Just as camphor burns and disappears without leaving any residue, it is associated in Indian spiritual traditions with letting go of ego and negativity. According to him, the flame and fragrance of camphor help create a more peaceful and sacred atmosphere during puja. With this thought, Shiv Shakti says it places special emphasis on purity and the overall user experience of its camphor products.

Focus on Quality

Responding to questions about camphor quality, Mr. Jaiswal told Sugandh India that Shiv Shakti priorities certain key characteristics in its products. These include easy and uniform ignition, leaving no black residue after burning and maintaining fragrance for a longer duration. According to him, the quality of camphor should not be judged only by its packaging or presentation, but by the actual experience of using the product. His emphasis has always been on creating a product that consistently meets consumer expectations. This consistency, he believes, has become an important part of Shiv Shakti’s identity.

Expansion into Incense Products

Responding to questions about other products, Mr.Jaiswal told Sugandh India that along with camphor, Shiv Shakti has also made incense products a part of its portfolio.

The brand aims to provide an experience of purity, positivity and a pleasant environment in homes and places ofworship through premium-quality camphor and incense products. According to the company, its products are inspired by Indian spiritual traditions and developed with the aim of enhancing the experience of puja and worship. For Mr. Jaiswal, this expansion is not simply about increasing the number of products. He believes that every product associated with puja must offer quality and reliability, because consumers use these products during important moments of their religious faith.

Contribution of Business Partners and Customers

Concluding the conversation, Mr. Jaiswal highlighted the important role played by business partners, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, retailers and customers throughout Shiv Shakti’s journey spanning several decades. He explained that the support of the business community and the trust of customers have played a major role in taking the company to different parts of the country. Expressing this sentiment, he says, “Your trust is our greatest strength.”.
