OMEGA INCENSE Spreading Its Fragrance Across India & Abroad

With a strong family legacy and years of experience in the incense industry, Bengaluru-based Omega Incense began production in 2013. Today, its fragrances reach multiple states across India as well as several countries overseas. In a special conversation with Sugandh India, Mr. Vikram Mundhra, the head of Omega Incense, shared the company’s journey and growth. He said, “I started the production of Omega Incense in 2013. Before that, I worked with my brother at Prashanth Agarbatti Company. My father had been in the trading business since 1975. Apart from this, our family members in Kolkata, Patna, Siliguri and Indore are also involved in the incense business. Today, Omega Incense products are popular not only across many Indian states but also in several countries around the world.

Mr. Mundhra explained that his purpose behind starting Omega was to build his own brand, manufacture export-quality products, and embrace modern marketing strategies. The company’s first product, Maple, played a key role in establishing Omega Incense’s identity in the market. He continued, “Although we began with agarbatti, Omega Incense was among the first few importers of dhoop sticks inIndia. Earlier, dhoop sticks used to be only three to four inches long, but now we are making sticks of 6 to 9 inches as well. We have more than 250 brands, including flora agarbatti, scented sticks, cones, dhoop sticks, metallic sticks, white dhoop and sambhrani.”

Omega mainly manufacturesluxury and medium-range products, which hold longer in the market and help build strong brand reputation. The company focuses equally on domestic and export markets and has strong demand in Punjab, Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Speaking about product popularity, hementioned that the Aroma Series— which includes dhoop sticks, cones and agarbatti with six fragrances—and the Shakti range of sambrani cups with eight fragrances are among their most successful offerings.


Commenting on the industry, Mr. Mundhra said, “The incense market is very strong and growing rapidly. Exports are also increasing, though competition is high. If your product quality and packaging are excellent, people recognize your brand — and that is exactly what happened with us. Today, Omega Incense is a known name and our market is continuously expanding. Apart from religious use, fragrance has become an important part of people’s lifestyle. This is why we will be launching roll-ons in the next three months.”


He added that Omega closely monitors both domestic and international markets. Their products are highly popular in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia in South America, as well as Australia, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Malaysia. In October, Omega Incense participated in the Dubai Beauty Expo 2025, marking its presence in the Middle East market. Across the world, the incense industry is expanding rapidly, and Omega Incense is steadily working toward strengthening its presence in this growing global market.
