The Sanjay Ghodawat Foundation (SGF), the CSR wing of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group (SGG), was recently conferred with the Mahatma Award for its impressive contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Social Impact. An inspiring personality for the youth, Sanjay Ghodawat believes in giving back to society what he has earned from society. He said that I am extremely honoured to have received this prestigious award from the jury. The Foundation will always continue to discharge its responsibilities towards society. Significantly, the ‘Mahatma Award’ is given for social work, social responsibility, business stability, and humanitarian efforts in epidemics and disasters.
Under the guidance of Mr. Sanjay Ghodawat, Chairman, of Ghodawat Group, SGF has done a lot of charitable work in its various programmes. During the lockdown implemented due to Covid, more than 5 lakh food packets were distributed by SGF to the displaced people. With the help of food packets, drinking water and other daily essentials for the migrants trapped due to the lockdown, they got a lot of help in dealing with this epidemic. The CSR wing of Ghodawat Group runs a full-fledged COVID Care Center at Atigre (Kolhapur) with specialist doctors, life-saving equipment and professional healthcare facilities. More than 27,500 patients were treated in this centre. Sanjay Ghodawat University’s own hostel building infrastructure was used for this noble cause.
Apart from this, the SGF has also taken over the Mauli old age home. Many displaced elders from their homes consider Mauli as their haven. SGF is also contemplating expanding this shelter to provide shelter to more people, equipped with all necessary items and facilities. It is noteworthy that SGF has always been ready for the betterment of society. Be it the plantation of over 3 lakh trees or financially helping the flood-affected areas of Kolhapur and Sangli, the group has been at the forefront of everything.
